1.  Answer for question above:

Hello Sheryl

My name is Charles and I am happy to respond to your questions.  I basically glued nothing until I made sure that everything went where it was supposed to go and all parts fit-in other words- I basically assembled the house once before I started gluing.  It sounds like a lot of work and it is but I feel that the end results will be more pleasing to you in as much as when glued and dry a mistake in assembly will cause you much grief, therefore my policy has always been "dry" assembly.

As regards painting, the only pre-painting I did was the small pieces-the ones you couldn't get to when the assembly was done.  I am not really sure what my final feeling is on pre-painting everything.  I am rather prone to painting after assembly with the aforementioned exception.  I have done it both ways and for me painting after assembly seemed to work best.  If all parts are not "exactly matched and fitted" and you pre-paint you can have cracks showing at wall intersections, etc.   Painting after assembly will allow the paint to flow into those misfit places and hide the imperfection.

Dollhouse building, I believe, is an individual "sport" in that while you learn from others you should always put yourself into it.

Hope I have answered the questions to your satisfaction.  Feel free to
contact me directly at any time.

 Enjoy

Feedback and recommendations will be placed here:

#1.  One method is by using a sheet of Red Oak Veneer and either cutting it into single strips and placing them individually, or scoring the sheet and clear stain and varnish it before installation.  Date: 1-5-2000

#2.  There are different types of wiring, i.e., Tape wire applied like transparent tape, Round Wire used on real homes, but much smaller, and Copper Foil Wire like creating a Printed Circuit.  There are starter kits that use transformers.  Check with you local craft stores.   Date: 1-6-2000
